Two Teens Dead After Collision with Driver Fleeing the Police

Blog

On Wednesday 2, 2020, two teens were killed after being struck by a driver fleeing the police in Mishawaka, Indiana.  The two teens were driving in a Chevrolet Cavalier on South Spring Street at the intersection with West 13th Street in Mishawaka.  The Mishawaka police were dispatched to a home in the 500 block of East 12th Street for reports of a domestic disturbance, and the responding officers began to chase a suspect who fled on foot before driving away in a silver Pontiac Grand Prix.  The pursuit between the officers and the suspect lasted for less than a minute when the Pontiac drove into the Chevrolet that the two teens were in, who were later taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.  The suspect and another individual fled on foot after the collision, while another passenger from the Pontiac stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.

When a driver takes their eyes off the road, an accident can happen in less than a minute.  Many people on the road believe that they can take their eyes off the road for a short amount of time, and they will be fine, no matter how many other drivers are on the road with them.  If you or someone you know has been injured or killed in a car accident by someone driving in a negligent manner, please contact the experienced legal team at Schiller Law Offices at 888-578-3100 or at IndyInjured.com to learn more about your potential right to compensation.
