On January 28, 2021, two people were injured in a traffic collision on State Road 58 near Bellback Road in Bedford.  According to the Bedford Police Department, a 2011 Kia Soul was heading eastbound on State Road 58 when they crossed over the center line into the path of a 2014 Lincoln.  Due to the weather conditions at the time of the collision, the driver of the 2011 Kia Soul was unable to avoid the collision which resulted in both vehicles sustaining heavy front-end damage.  The driver of the 2011 Kia Soul was unresponsive and suffered from head injuries and severe bleeding and was transported to IU Health Bedford Hospital.  The driver of the 2014 Lincoln had to be freed from her vehicle by the Bedford Fire Department and was also transported to a hospital.
