Indianapolis drivers continue to struggle with the many potholes on local interstates. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) stated they are working on it, however, drivers feel that any improvement is taking too long, especially as the inclement weather is no longer a factor. INDOT claims that a fix is coming, at a pace that even they are unstratified about. Indianapolis drivers have been living with the pothole problem for a few months now, and after seeing the cost the potholes were taking on them to repair their vehicle, the drivers decided to make some noise and voice their concerns. According to the drivers that reached out to INDOT, they were told that the roads would be fixed when the weather became better. INDOT claims that a solution will not happen overnight and that they are still in the preliminary phase of trying to come up with a major project to smooth out driving on those roads. So far INDOT has started strip patching Wednesday night. Drivers should be aware of construction crews working overnight.
Road hazards, big or small, are always something that a good driver should be aware of when on the road. Sometimes, however, it just takes one bad driver not seeing a pothole to set in motion a serious car accident.
