Collision in Monroe County Leaves One Dead and Two Injured

A two-vehicle collision occurred on Wednesday, June 4th, around 6:30 p.m. The crash happened on Celina Road near Kentucky, and the Kentucky State Police were called to the scene. The police said that a 60-year-old woman of Celina, Tennessee was driving a 2001 Honda in the northbound lane when she then crossed over into the southbound lane driving head-on into a 1996 Buick that was driven by a 33-year-old male of Muncie, Indiana. The 60-year-old woman driving the 2001 Honda was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and was taken to Monroe County Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The 33-year-old driver of the 1996 Buick and his passenger, a 33-year-old woman from Muncie, were both wearing a seat belt and taken by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville where they are still said to be in critical condition.
