Blog

In the early morning hours of Sunday November 10, 2019, a college student was killed in a head on collision while driving on Interstate 65.  The police received a call at 1:34 a.m. about a wrong-way driver that was heading northbound on Interstate 65 from U.S. 231.  According to the Indiana State Police the student was driving a Chevrolet Corvette southbound on the center lane of interstate 65, when he was struck by a Kia that was in the same lane but traveling north.  The inside lane of the highway was closed at the time of the crash for construction.  The passenger in the Corvette was taken to Franciscan Health Crown Point.  The driver of the Kia died as a result of the collision as a result of the injuries of the collision, but the police believe that alcohol may be a factor in the collision.  All the lanes of southbound Interstate 65 were closed for a short time near 109th Avenue on Sunday following the collision.

Whether drunk or just driving erratically, going the wrong way on the road can be disastrous for everyone on the road.  There are almost never any warning signs for drivers to avoid someone who is driving the wrong way on a road until it is too late to avoid the collision.  If you or someone you know has been injured or killed by the negligence of someone driving under the influence or driving in the wrong direction on a road, please contact the experienced legal team at Schiller Law Offices at 888-578-3100 or at IndyInjured.com to learn more about your potential right to compensation.
