Indianapolis Metropolitan Police are still searching for a vehicle involved in a hit and run that resulted in one fatality on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. The police responded to the 5300 block of E. Fall Creek Parkway North Drive around 4:30 a.m. on a report of a personal injury collision. The officers learned that a blue Chevrolet had been traveling east on Fall Creek Parkway and had come upon a man standing in the middle of the road. The Chevrolet driver swerved to avoid the person, but still clipped the individual and knocked him into the roadway. The motorist then crashed into a treeline, briefly trapping the driver in the vehicle. According to the police, the driver forced his way out of the vehicle and then checked on the man sitting up and talking. The Chevrolet driver then went to get help, and the injured man was struck by a second vehicle; who fled the scene without stopping to provide aid or information. The injured man did not survive the second collision.
