Driver Going Wrong Way on I-70 Causes Fatal Collision

A collision involving a vehicle going the wrong way on I-70 on the morning of Saturday, February 13, resulted in a fatal collision. According to the police, a state trooper had stopped to investigate a Hyundai SUV that had pulled off the road’s shoulder and was facing the wrong way on I-70.  When the trooper approached the vehicle, the driver drove forward, going eastbound in the westbound lane, despite the trooper commanding him to stop.  The Hyundai SUV continued driving eastbound when it struck a Hyundai Sonata head-on, which resulted in the death of the driver and passenger of the Hyundai SUV.  The preliminary investigation into the collision have led the officers to believe that alcohol could have been a factor in the driver’s behavior.

Impaired driving due to alcohol or other drugs is a year-round problem no matter the weather conditions on the road.  A combination of impaired driving, driving the wrong way on the road, and bad weather conditions may equal a fatal collision.  If you or someone you know has been injured or killed in a car accident by someone driving in a negligent manner, please contact the experienced legal team at Schiller Law Offices at 888-578-3100 or at to learn more about your potential right to compensation.
