According to 2012 Indiana statistics, 274 people died in the State of Indiana because they failed to wear their seat belt. Approximately another 3,450 motor vehicle collisions involved a driver and or passenger who did not wear a seat, of which, 1,197 people were ejected from the vehicle.

Accordingly, since May 2013, Indiana has been participating in the national Click It or Ticket campaign, where state and local law enforcement monitor the roads for individuals failing to wear their seat beat as required by Indiana state law.

With the upcoming Memorial Day holiday, please ensure that all those traveling with you have their seat belts fastened; it may be all you can do to protect against those who are driving this weekend who may not be so responsible. Please drive safe and exercise caution while traveling this weekend, and if injured please contact the associates at Schiller Law.
