Around 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, a car traveling east near U.S. 52 at South Creekside Drive in New Palestine struck a pedestrian who was crossing the road. The pedestrian was taken to an Indianapolis-area hospital, where she was later pounced dead. No explanation as to how the collision occurred has been ascertained by the investigating officers. The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian was not injured according to police that arrived at the scene of the accident. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and Greenfield Police Department Fatal Accident Crash Team are still interviewing witnesses and continuing their investigation.
Even when you look twice before crossing the street, drivers may not always be alert, and in the dark it can be especially hard to see anything that is not directly in-front of a motorist’s head lights. Just because you take every precaution does not mean that everyone around will as well. If you or someone you know has been the victim of a pedestrian collision, please contact the experienced legal team at Schiller Law Offices at 888-578-3100 or at IndyInjured.com to learn more about your potential right to compensation.
