Deadly Semi Accident in Elkhart Indiana

Blog

On the morning of December 16, 2014, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s department reported a auto accident occurring on U.S. 20 near the intersection of County Road 33 near Middlebury, Indiana.  A driver of a Pontiac G6 was struck from behind by a driver of an SUV while yielding to oncoming traffic before turning left onto a private drive, which caused the driver of the G6 to be pushed into the path of an oncoming semi hauling cattle.  When the semi driver attempted to brake to avoid the driver of the G6, he lost control of his truck which then rolled over resulting in a collision with the driver of the G6 and the semi catching fire. Unfortunately due the impact of the collision, the driver of the G6 was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency professionals, in addition to numerous cattle losses resulting from the semi fire.  However, the driver of the semi escaped without any personal injuries and the driver of the SUV was transported to IU Health Goshen to receive medical treatment.  If you or a loved one has suffered a loss due to the negligence of another motorist or other type  car or trucking accident, please contact the experienced legal team at Schiller Law offices at 888-578-3100 for a free initial consultation.
