Early this morning, at approximately 5:30 a.m., police and emergency personnel rushed to the intersection of 42nd Street and Sherman Drive where a major car accident occurred.

The northeast-Indianapolis crash involved one vehicle that t-boned another. One person in the t-boned vehicle became stuck and crews on the scene had to free him from the car.

That individual was then rushed to IU Health Methodist Hospital and was later determined to be in critical condition. Another person was injured in the crash, though it was not clear which vehicle the individual was traveling in. Moreover, this other individual’s condition was unknown.

The accident caused a lot of issues with morning traffic as drivers were headed to work to start their day. The intersection was closed while emergency personnel investigated further.
