On November 14, 2015, a 56-year old woman from Upland, Indiana was declared deceased after being taken to Marion General Hospital.  The woman’s death was the result of her fall of over 10 feet from the high school bleachers at Eastbrook High School, while she attended a basketball game where her grandchildren were playing. The fall occurred as the woman, who was a Student Aid for Eastbrook Community Schools in Marion, Indiana, slipped and lost her balance while climbing up the bleachers. Following the incident, the Grant County Coroner reported that the woman’s death occurred after she sustained two skull fractures due to the impact and severity of the fall.  Due to the incident, all of the remaining weekend basketball games and other activities at Eastbrook High School were subsequently cancelled.

As demonstrated above, a slip and fall incident may be fatal or have a lasting effect on an individual’s life.
